Mexico keeps growing and breaking ground for women’s football in the Americas.

A record fan attendance of 38,230 spectators at ‘El Volcán’ stadium enjoyed the first leg of the big final of Clausura 2018 between Tigres and Rayadas, a unique scenery to decide who will lift the Mexican trophy. Up to 21,000 fans used their season tickets and the rest paid for the game tickets, priced at 50 pesos, 2.21€ per ticket.

Under the hashtag #VamosPorEllas, the Liga Mexico Femenil attracted the interest of the Mexican fans, who already know what filling stadiums for important women’s football games is.

The final score, 2-2, leads to a high voltage final game to crown the Liga Femenil Mexico champion. Last year, now 2nd most attended game, 32,466 fans sold out tickets for Apertura 2017 final between Club Guadalajara and Club Pachuca at Estadio Akron.

Voit, Mexican sports goods brand, Coca-Cola and Powerade are the main partners of the league.
