Liga Iberdrola is giving signals of growth.
Yesterday, at Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque and due to the first league match of Espanyol and Betis, around 900 spectators attended the game. A renewed and exciting atmosphere among local and away fans.
Maybe it’s a coincidence, but teams’ coaches are starting to dress more formally in games. We could see that in Málaga v Atlético de Madrid too. Fortuity or not, it improves women’s football image.
On the other hand, I hope the way TV was also taken care of yesterday, can be applied throughout the league. The stadium can look empty if TV cameras are placed in the main tribune, where most of fans are located. If the minimum infrastructure is built on the other side, the image is hugely improved for fans, media and sponsors.
However, if TV sets are placed on the other side (as we can see in Premier League games), we will also need to optimise and maximise sponsors’ visibility in the tribune.
Little steps with bigger results on tv.
