The FIFA Women’s World Cup that will take place next year in France will host more sponsors. From Canada 2015 to France 2019, two additional partners will be added to the official FIFA partners involved in the major soccer event.

In 2015, the main partners were the following:

  • Adidas
  • Coca-Cola
  • Gazprom
  • Hyundai – KIA Motors
  • VISA

For 2019, the competition will have the support of:

  • Adidas
  • Coca-Cola
  • Wanda
  • Hyundai – KIA Motors
  • Qatar Airways
  • VISA

Wanda Group and Qatar Airways will be the new ones.

Wanda Group is a Chinese multinational conglomerate active in different sectors, as Construction, Finance, Health, Real State and Retail. They own part of Atlético de Madrid and are the title sponsor of Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Qatar Airways is also very known for its former partnership with FC Barcelona and now with AS Roma.

Nevertheless, if we have a look at 2018 Russia World Cup in men’s football, we can see that Wanda and Qatar Airways are also present in the sponsors chart. Apparently, they got the full pack when investing in the male’s tournament. But this is how we get started in appealing more sponsors for women’s football.

Even if their initial plan was to invest in the men’s World Cup, they will probably add budget, sponsorship activations, brand awareness and potential new partners to women’s football.

We will see how these brands activate their partnership during the competition.

Welcome, sponsors.
