Fans should be the same as men’s.
If they feel proud to be part of your club family, their heroes can be both women and men.
Then, the first job is to build something worth being part and spreading.
As the journalist Begoña Villarrubia said in her interview, readers of women’s football content are club fans in general.
So, either for exclusively women’s football clubs or mixed clubs, offering an emotional benefit beyond the field is as necessary as thrilling to grow your fan base.
This is what Manchester United Women did, telling fans to come and see the new Red Devils, backed by club values as tradition, bravery and pride.
