Strength, resilience and focus. According to the FIFA’s president, the key ingredients to let women in football shine.
Gianni Infantino was interviewed by the Venezuelan star Deyna Castellanos, during her journey in Russia to spread the “Dare to Shine” message of the next Women’s World Cup in 2019.
She remarks the importance of counting with men to promote women’s football. Carles Puyol, Didier Drogba, Iker Casillas or Cafu have been some of the legends who have been more than open to contribute.
Likewise, she feels accountable for taking the game to the next level due to her massive fan base and to become a good example for the next generations.
For clubs with both teams, men’s and women’s, there can be many actions to be done together. For instance:
- Specific trainings with kids of the youth teams
- Solidarity and social campaigns within the city
- Playing a game together with mixed teams
Men’s and women’s football players, we are in the same game.
“Next year in France, we’ll see the greatest FIFA Women’s World Cup ever, in a country that really celebrates women’s football.” @Deynac18 conducted one last interview before leaving Russia. A sit-down with the FIFA President.#FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/obYUA1j8nz
